Seminar on the Effects of Acid Deposition and Air Pollution on Human Health and Ecosystems – Join us on 31 October!

The registration is now closed.

.

1. Background

Deteriorated atmospheric environment by pollutants emitted from anthropogenic activities may cause adverse effects on human health and ecosystems.

However, scientific knowledge needs to be further shared among various stakeholders, including policymakers, scientists, and the public.

To share scientific knowledge and relevant policy measures, a regular set of workshops or seminars on the relationship between the atmospheric environment and human health and the relationship between the atmospheric environment and ecosystems is planned, and as such, the Seminar on the Effects of Acid Deposition and Air Pollution on Human Health and Ecosystems will be held online on 31 October 2023, from 13:00-15:30 (Bangkok time, UTC+7). This Seminar is organized by the Network Center for the EANET, hosted by the Asia Center for Air Pollution Research (ACAP).

.

2. Objectives
  • To obtain scientific knowledge on the Acid Deposition/Air Pollution effects on human health and ecosystems
  • To learn science-based policy experiences on the reduction of atmospheric pollutants in other regions, such as Europe
  • To obtain a common understanding of future directions of environmental measures between policymakers and scientists on national and international levels.

.

3. Expected Participants

Air quality experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the academia, EANET Participating Countries, and others.
