  • National Stakeholder Awareness Workshop in the Philippines on EANET – Promoting acid deposition and air quality management in East Asia
    The EANET is organizing the National Stakeholder Awareness Workshop in the Philippines on EANET: Promoting acid deposition and air quality management in East Asia on 26 May 2023, in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines, and the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, University of the Philippines. The Workshop will aim at showcasing the achievements and activities of the EANET over the last 20 years, including activities involving the Philippines and to encourage cooperation between EANET and the Philippines in the implementation of the expanded scope and the EANET Project Fund activities. The Workshop will be held on Friday 26 May 2023 from 13:00-17:15 at the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, College of Science, University of the Philippines-Diliman.   • National Stakeholder Awareness Workshop in Lao PDR on EANET
    The Secretariat for the EANET is organizing the National Stakeholder Awareness Workshop in Lao PDR on EANET: Promoting acid deposition and air quality management in East Asia on 2 May 2023, in cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Natural Resource and Environment Research Institute (NRERI). The Workshop will aim at showcasing the achievements and activities of the EANET over the last 20 years, including activities involving Lao PDR and to encourage cooperation between EANET and Lao PDR in the implementation of the expanded scope and the EANET Project Fund activities.
  • Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Advisory Group Meeting

    The Network Center for the EANET is organizing, together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the Philippines, the first in-person meeting of the VOC Advisory Group, in Manila, Philippines, from 24-26 May 2023, as part of the Project for Promotion of VOCs Related Capacity Building in EANET.

  • The EANET Online Meeting on the Revision of Guidelines in 2023

    The EANET Online Meeting on the Revision of Guidelines in 2023 will be organized online on 10 May 2023. It will be attended by the EANET National Focal Points and representatives from the 13 Participating Countries.

  • EANET Regional Awareness Workshop in 2023

    The EANET Regional Awareness Workshop in 2023, a focus on Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Low Cost Sensors (LCS) will be organized on Tuesday, 30 May 14:00-17:00 (ICT) at the United Nations Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand, and in a hybrid format, as part of the Climate and Clean Air Conference: Air Quality Action Week, organized by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).

    The Workshop is expected to increase public understanding of air pollution and acid deposition issues through the lens of experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders from the EANET region and globally. It will aim at showcasing EANET’s impacts and promote the EANET Project Fund. The Workshop’s two sessions will focus on innovative and emerging topics, specifically on two activities from the EANET Project Fund: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Low-Cost Sensors (LCS), and related opportunities, limitations, and good practices.

  • TNT and Capacity Building Program, Session 1, held in Rep. of Korea
    The Network Center (NC) for the EANET, in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Republic of Korea, will hold the TNT & Capacity Building Program to improve the monitoring capabilities in the Participating Countries. The first Session of the Program will include lectures and workshops and a field visit to the Air Environment Research Institute in Jeju-island and to the Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology. It will be held in the Republic of Korea from 22 May to 1 June 2023.
  • TNT and Capacity Building Program, Session 1, held in Japan
    The Network Center (NC) for the EANET, in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Republic of Korea, will hold the TNT & Capacity Building Program to improve the monitoring capabilities in the Participating Countries. The first Session of the Program will include lectures and workshops on Soil & vegetation, Inland Aquatic Environment monitoring, and data management. It will take place in Japan from 15-19 May 2023.

August 2023

  • The Twenty-fourth Senior Technical Managers’ Meeting on the EANET
    The Twenty-fourth Senior Technical Managers’ Meeting (STM24) on the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia will be organized in Niigata, Japan, and in a hybrid form, from August 29th to 30th, 2023. It will be attended by the members of the EANET Scientific Advisory Committee from the 13 EANET Participating Countries.
  • The Working Group Meeting of EANET in 2023

    The Working Group Meeting (WG2023) of EANET in 2023 will be organized online from 22-23 August 2023. It will be attended by the EANET National Focal Points and representatives from the 13 Participating Countries.

September 2023

  • EANET Training on Air Quality Monitoring Systems Using Low­-Cost Sensors
    The EANET Training on Air Quality Monitoring Systems Using Low­-Cost Sensors will take place on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 September 2023, from 13:30 to 17:00 (UTC+7), in Hanoi, Viet Nam, and online. The event will be jointly organized by the ADB, ACAP, and the Vietnam Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology, and Climate Change (IMHEN). The training will focus on various aspects of LCS equipment handling and data utilization. Participants will learn how to set up, operate, and assess LCS equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable data through quality control techniques. It will also emphasize the ability to detect anomalies and troubleshoot problems early on while enabling effective interpretation, visualization, and analysis of monitoring data to improve decision-making and performance evaluation.

  • TNT and Capacity Building Program, Session 2, held in Japan
    The Network Center (NC) for the EANET, in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Republic of Korea, will hold the TNT & Capacity Building Program to improve the monitoring capabilities in the Participating Countries. The second Session of the Program will include lectures and workshops on wet/dry deposition monitoring, lab practice activities including QA/QC, and a field visit to the EANET monitoring sites. This session will be held in Japan from 24-30 September 2023.
  • TNT and Capacity Building Program, Session 2, held in Rep. of Korea
    The Network Center (NC) for the EANET, in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER), Republic of Korea, will hold the TNT & Capacity Building Program to improve the monitoring capabilities in the Participating Countries.   • The Twenty-fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Meeting on the EANET

    The Twenty-fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Meeting (IG25) on the EANET will be organized from 29-30 November 2023, in Hanoi, Viet Nam, in a hybrid format. It will be attended by the EANET National Focal Points and representatives from the 13 Participating Countries.
